Many of you have been asking about the differences between our new paper backdrops and our vinyl backdrops. Well we have listened and we did up a quick video going over the main differences between the two backdrops.

Point by point:

Vinyl Backdrops

  • More durable
  • Washable
  • Less likely to stain
  • Lay flat without much fuss
  • Can show vinyl texture in zoomed in photos with light designs
  • Dark designs can give glare in some lighting circumstances
  • Ideal for all sorts of photography, especially food photography

Paper Backdrops

  • Cheaper
  • Available in 2 sizes
  • Less durable (can rip, crease, etc)
  • Will stain if you spill on it
  • Does not tolerate getting wet well
  • Generally has less glare issues
  • No fiber textures in zoomed in images
  • Idea for any photography that does not have wet elements.
  • The smaller size is ideal for jewelry photography
